Alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine, and spirits are widely consumed worldwide. However, alcohol can have certain harmful effects. Binge drinking of alcohol can also lead to hangover. But, there are certain foods that you can eat to prevent or treat the symptoms of a hangover.

Symptoms Of Alcohol Hangover 

A Hangover comes with unpleasant physical and mental symptoms after alcohol consumption. These include:

  • Dizziness 
  • Headache
  • Nausea and Vomiting
  • Fatigue 
  • Muscle pain
  • Poor mental performance

These symptoms are due to dehydration, hormonal effects, and toxic effects of alcohol. 

Foods To Eat For Hangover

Fenugreek Seeds

Mango

Mango provides antioxidants. It also enhances the metabolism of alcohol.

Ginger

Ginger has liver-protecting and antioxidant effects. It has been traditionally used in China for the treatment of discomfort after excessive alcohol intake.

Coconut Water

Its hydration effects and electrolyte content prevent dehydration and associated symptoms.

  • Take an antacid half an hour before alcohol consumption to avoid gastritis and stomach pain.
  • Drink fluids like coconut water, water, juices, etc. along with alcohol.

  • Nibble on some sprouted fenugreek seeds while drinking. 
  • Drink coconut water when you wake up the next day after drinking. (Avoid coffee or tea)
